Who can take this course?
This accredited qualification is ideal for anyone wishing to work as a Door Supervisor, as it provides the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence and work as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry. Subjects covered include behavioural standards, legislation relevant to the role, search procedures, powers of arrest, recording incidents and crime scene preservation, reducing risk, conflict management and communicating effectively.

How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
This qualification must be undertaken over a minimum of 4 days.

How is the qualification assessed?
It is divided into 4 units and is assessed through 3 multiple-choice examinations, a theoretical assessment and a practical assessment. These units are as follows:

Unit 1: Working in the Private Security Industry
Assessed by a 40 minute, 25 question multiple-choice examination.
Candidates must achieve a score of at least 18 out of 25 to pass this unit.

Unit 2: Working as a Door Supervisor
Assessed by a 1 hour, 40 question multiple-choice examination.
Candidates must achieve a score of at least 28 out of 40 to pass this unit.

Unit 3: Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
Assessed by a 40 minute, 25 question multiple-choice examination.
Candidates must achieve a score of at least 18 out of 25 to pass this unit.

Unit 4: Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
Assessed in two parts. Part one is a practical assessment and part two is a
theoretical assessment set by HABC.

Where can this course be taken?
Door Supervision and / or Security Guarding training courses in Plymouth are run by Train2Survive at Falcon House, Eagle Road, Plymouth or in Mansfield, Glasgow and other locations by arrangement.
