Who can take this course?
This accredited qualification is ideal for anyone wishing to work as a Security Guard. It is based on relevant SIA specifications for learning and qualifications, providing the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence and work as a Security Guard within the Private Security Industry. Subjects covered include the roles and responsibilities of security officers, patrolling, security systems, communication, reporting and record keeping, avoiding conflict and reducing personal risk, defusing conflict, resolving and learning from conflict.

How long will it take me to achieve this qualification?
This qualification must be undertaken over a minimum of 3 days.

How is the qualification assessed?
It is divided into 3 units and is assessed through 3 multiple-choice examinations. These units are as follows:

Unit 1: Working in the Private Security Industry
Assessed by a 40 minute 25 question multiple-choice examination.
Unit 2: Working as a Security Officer
Assessed by a 1 hour 40 question multiple-choice examination.
Unit 3: Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
Assessed by a 40 minute 25 question multiple-choice examination.

Individuals achieving this qualification will able to progress to:

• HABC Level 2 Award in Door Supervision (QCF)
• HABC Level 2 Award in CCTV Operations (Public Space Surveillance) (QCF)
• HABC Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Providing Security Services (QCF)
• HABC Level 2 Certificate in Providing Security Services (QCF)

Where can this course be taken?
Door Supervision and / or Security Guarding training courses in Plymouth are run by Train2Survive at Falcon House, Eagle Road, Plymouth or in Mansfield, Glasgow and other locations by arrangement.
